About

Mission statement

The Joshua School of Ministry is designed to facilitate a life changing experience in the heart and mind of believers and to equip them with the basic skills necessary for effective Christian ministry. Students develop an appreciation for the person of the Holy Spirit and become familiar with the operation of His gifts both for the purpose of evangelism and for ministry within the context of the church.

Objectives and methodologies

Students learn the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith.

Students learn to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in the exercise of spiritual gifts through hands on experience both in and outside the classroom.

Ministry skills are developed through practical application. Homework assignments involve evangelism, intercessory prayer, participation in small group meetings, and other types of ministry.

Classroom interaction gives students the opportunity to identify patterns of thinking that are inconsistent with God's word, thereby breaking out of the limitations which keep them from developing their full potential in Christ.

Students develop an intimacy with God through prayer and through dealing honestly with the issues God speaks to their lives.

Students learn biblical skills of honest and open communication necessary for developing loving relationships.

Students develop a biblical worldview, discovering God's perspective on current and historical issues.

By examining the historical development of the church and by working with local area churches, students develop a working knowledge and appreciation for the church as God's primary vehicle for ministry and personal growth.

Students read the entire Bible and learn inductive Bible study skills, equipping them for further independent study
